Hypocrisy At Its Finest

One reason The Daily Show with Jon Stewart works is, they seem to be the only television show where old clips are shown with new. I have no idea why the broader media doesn't do this more often, because it so aptly points out the lies and hypocrisy that go on in politics. Plus, why write jokes when the subjects so clearly mock themselves?

I don't watch The Daily Show that often, but I caught this clip. It was blistering and stunning. And I get it: The Daily Show is liberal. I wish they did this more often with Democrats. But if you are a Republican, or if Fox is your primary news source, please, I beg you, watch this:

The clips regarding sexism aren't quite as strong, especially the quote from Sarah Palin, who seems to understand she'll face criticism. But Karl Rove and Bill O'Reilly? Sweet fancy Moses.

(Thanks to Six Hours on Sunday for digging out the clip.)

  1. This clip was brilliant. I sent it to a couple relatives yesterday saying, essentially, "this is what makes the Daily Show so good" - they hold politicians and the media to their own standards.

I'm glad you posted it here.

  2. I couldn't stop laughing after watching this. it was just so humbling to see how they (and most everybody) are sipping the Obama or McCain Koolaid that overrides even their personal beliefs, we are quite a mess
